Privacy Policy

TypeMax is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your data stays on your device.

Data Collection

We do not collect any personal data. TypeMax operates entirely offline on your local machine:

• All snippets are stored locally in a SQLite database on your computer
• No snippets, text, or usage data is ever transmitted to our servers
• No analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind
• No account required to use the software

License Validation

When you activate a Pro license:

• The license key is validated locally using cryptographic verification
• No network connection is required for license validation
• Your license key is stored locally on your device

Update Checks

When you click "Check for Updates":

• TypeMax connects to GitHub to check for new releases
• Only the version number is compared; no personal data is sent
• Updates are downloaded directly from GitHub releases
• You can disable update checks entirely

Clipboard Access

TypeMax can access your clipboard only when you use the {clipboard} variable in a snippet:

• Clipboard content is read only when the specific snippet is triggered
• Clipboard data is never stored or transmitted
• You have full control over which snippets use clipboard access

Keyboard Monitoring

TypeMax monitors keyboard input to detect trigger shortcuts:

• Keystroke data is processed locally and never stored or transmitted
• Only trigger patterns (your defined shortcuts) are matched
• No keylogging or recording of typed content

Third-Party Services

TypeMax does not integrate with any third-party services except:

• GitHub - For downloading updates (optional)

Data Storage

All data is stored locally:

• macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/TypeMax/
• Database file: typemax.db

You can delete all TypeMax data by removing this folder.

Children's Privacy

TypeMax does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
